Line Beinkamp

Danish illustrator Line Beinkamp combines her formal education in literature with self-taught artistic skills to create visual stories inspired by folklore and fantasy.

She obtained her Master’s Degree in Literature from the Institute of Art and Culture at Copenhagen University with a final thesis on Imaginary World Building, something she also applies to her artistic practice. “For me, the ultimate goal is to tell a good story. To have the viewer go ‘I wonder what this means?’ or ‘Where is that character going?’. A picture that can make a person get lost in a notion is, in my opinion, a good piece of art.”

Line currently works as a concept artist and illustrator at a Danish game development studio called Invisible Walls. She also works independently writing and illustrating children’s books - recently she has had the opportunity to create a game design based on one of her books which is under development as a point and click adventure game for pre-teen children.

Not limited by technique or media, she draws both digitally and by hand.
