Phil Cho

Based out of Columbia, Maryland in the United States, Phil Cho is a Korean American freelance artist. Starting from a young age he developed a deep fascination of superhero art and animation which he has carried with him into adulthood.

He studied studio art at Virginia Tech with a focus on creative technologies, and never stopped drawing superheroes in his own time. After finishing school, he focused on developing his craft as an illustrator by working on commissions from various clients and fans.

His notable projects include creating illustrations for ESPN’s social media accounts, illustrations for the board game “Venom Assault”, and illustrations for the fan-funded project “Earth-27”. He has also been commissioned by Sean Schemmel, the American voice actor for Goku from Dragon Ball Z. Influenced by the art styles of American superheroes and Japanese anime, Phil’s art style lies somewhere in between the two.

Phil works entirely in digital media using an iMac, a Cintiq tablet and Photoshop; focusing primarily on character illustration.
