Rayita

Hernan Castelli, also known as Rayita, was born and raised in Argentina in the 80s, a time when children grew up without internet or smartphones. It was a period he feels lucky to have lived through. 

Since completing his degree in graphic design at the University of Buenos Aires, Hernan has moved, worked and most importantly lived in many countries including New Zealand, Ireland, USA, and Australia. His work has also exhibited at the TATE Modern in London. 

“I’ve collected years of experience in the design and advertising industry and a lovely hunchback from a lifetime of non-stop illustrating”. 

Hernan currently creates inventive, fantastical creatures named “Giants” who push their way into photographic images. “They are there to express their emotions, wisdom or quirkiness.” His range of inspirations come from images he collected as a child and also retro kids books.
