Daniel Marroquín

Daniel Marroquin aka @roqdraw is an illustrator who resides in Melbourne, Australia. He has studied graphic design at the Academy of Design (currently known as LCI Education) and web development at General Assembly.

He portrays characters in their independent mythologies with repeated concepts of animals, graffiti, martial arts, Mesoamerica, Japanophilia, urban culture and mysticism.

Bold colours, furious expressions, exaggerated anatomy, dynamic line-work, intricate detail and relative symbolism are interwoven in his visual language.

He held his debut solo show in 2018 and has exhibited at various group exhibitions in Melbourne and internationally, due to being a finalist for Wacom Australia’s ‘The Next Level’ competition twice consecutively.

His portfolio highlights include designing 23 characters, logo and promotional collateral for ‘Four Kings’, a game that was launched and successfully funded on Kickstarter in September 2017.

Some murals of his are displayed in the headquarters of Australian retailer Catch, and Rockbank Primary School to commemorate their 150th anniversary.
