Sissel Grytå

 
 

Sissel holds a Bachelor of Fine Art in Illustration from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. She has exhibited in the USA, Mexico and Europe, including the juried exhibition “Bund Bildender Künstler” in Leipzig, Germany and “Hecho en Mazatlan” shown in both Mazatlan, Mexico and San Antonio, TX.

Her illustration work spans from editorial and literary to illustrated maps and identity design. She has also showcased work in the Italian online magazine, Magic Bus.

In her illustrations, she likes to mix media; printmaking, pastels, paints and digital components to create textures and colours that leave room for the viewer to draw their lines.

Her artistic influences include Edvard Munch, J.M.W Turner, Käthe Kollwitz, Mark Rothko and Nathan Oliveira. Sissel is a member of the California Society of Printmakers, NBK (Norwegian Society of Artists) and Grafill (Norwegian Society of illustrators and graphic designers).
