Georgia Loxton Knight
Daughter and granddaughter to landscape painters, Georgia has been immersed in art from an early age. She has recently emerged as a professional artist, beginning her career with paintings driven by her interest in surrealism and dreams.
Combined with her upbringing on the coast of South Western Australia, this interest has manifested in large-scale abstract works using waterscapes as a visual material to distort; as if warped through a strange lens, or melted on a hot day.
Georgia’s work also ranges towards dream-like visions, featuring desert landscapes and neatly arranged iconography obscured by smoke. These symbolic items are like gathered elements of a long-forgotten story, hinting at a meaning that’s slipped away over centuries - or perhaps just upon waking.
