Tom Mitchell

Thomas lives and works in Dorset, England. He began his love of art at school and continued it to university, studying illustration at The University of the West of England (UWE), Bristol. There he developed a particular interest in lino printmaking; in his final year, he developed this style, constructing a project on abandoned industrial sites in the Bristol area. He is inspired by architecture and interesting places that he has visited. His work often includes intricate structural details using a limited colour pallete. More recently he has developed a watercolour and pen style, with a hint of reportage, to paint individual houses for personal commissions. Some of the artists who have inspired Thomas’s work are Gail Brodholt, Paul Catherall, Nick Morley and Thomas Thorspecken. Thomas is proficient in the Adobe Creative Suite, has attended art fairs in Bradford and Childwickbury, and sells his work at a local National Trust gallery in Wiltshire.
