Valeria Barnhill is an American artist, originally born in the USSR (Russia) who currently works from her studio in Texas. Her prior experience in engineering and design have provided her with a complimentary background to develop her skills as a contemporary artist.
Valeria paints, educates and participates in international exhibitions and art shows. Her artwork is featured in galleries and private collections in the USA, Russia, Australia, Africa and Europe.
She is a winner of the Tyler, Texas city art project, ‘Beauty and the Box’ with her innovative paintings that turned utility boxes into art objects. Today, her colourful art can be seen and enjoyed throughout the city of Tyler.
Reflecting on her creative practice and motivations, Valeria says, “I am happy to do something I love, turning my imagination into a visual image, that makes my dream real, and people are able to see the story behind the picture. My paintings are colourful and positive. I like to treat my inner child by creating paintings and drawings with a naive and simple vision of things. I am also working with Children International, a company helping kids around the world to provide food and shelter. By purchasing my art, you join me in supporting this charity. Thank you.”
